On 5 Feb 10 Angela Marks, age 38, 575 Joe Skinner Road, Belpre, reported her live-in boyfriend David Mowery, age 38, shoved her to the ground during the course of an argument. Ms. Marks said she was attempting to leave their residence to avoid exacerbating the situation when Mr. Mowery pushed her out the door and onto the ground. In addition, Ms. Marks stated the previous day she argued with Mr. Mowery over his refusal to assist in housekeeping despite the fact that he is unemployed. During that row, Ms. Marks commented that Mr. Mowery grabbed her hand and forced her to strike herself in the eye so she could not say that he did it. Sgt. Thorpe and Deputy Sheriff Smeeks were unable to locate Mr. Mowery, therefore Deputy Smeeks requested warrants for him for two counts of domestic violence.

On 6 Feb 10 Deputy Sheriffs Holbert and Mayle responded to a domestic disturbance at 2020 Bear Run Road, Reno. Upset and arguing that she believed her husband had an affair with her sister, Suzanne Selsor, age 56, slapped her husband Ronald, age 49, across the face. Both subjects admitted consuming alcohol the previous evening and indicated that their hangovers contributed to their agitation with each other. Mr. Selsor said he did not fear for his safety during the incident and he stated he did not believe his wife was trying to harm him. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Mayle issued Mrs. Selsor a minor misdemeanor citation for disorderly conduct by fighting.

On 6 Feb 10 Sgt. Norman and Deputy Sheriff Caltrider responded to reports of a loud party at 508 Elk Run Road, Beverly. Upon their arrival the Deputies observed a full case and an empty case of Bud Light on the porch. After pounding loudly on the door numerous times, Brian M. Grommeck, age 19, 2095 Beech Hilaman Road, Stockport, opened the door and allowed them to enter the home. Inside the home the Deputies noticed a number of individuals who appeared to be under twenty-one years old sheepishly attempting to hide beer behind their backs and several others tried to evade detection by disappearing down a hallway. Gathering the individuals in the home, the Deputies identified the adults other than Mr. Grommeck as one of the home’s residents, John Shockley, age 19, and Cassandra Blackburn, age 18, 922 High Street, Malta. Additionally, the Deputies identified the juveniles present as seventeen and sixteen year old Stockport residents, a fifteen year old McConnelsville resident, a fifteen year old Malta resident, and sixteen and fifteen year old Beverly residents. The teenagers, most of whom had an odor of alcohol, all stated they were at the residence celebrating a birthday. Of all the juveniles only the sixteen year old Beverly resident had not consumed any alcohol and was released from the scene. The remaining juveniles were released to their parents and will be summonsed to Juvenile Court on charges on charges of delinquency by underage consumption of alcohol. Mr. Grommeck, Mr. Shockley and Ms. Blackburn were all arrested for underage consumption of alcohol and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 9 Feb 10 Jonah Carmichael, age 22, 130 Greene Street, Newport, reported a group of individuals harassed him over the phone for several hours and at approximately 2:00 am a few of them appeared outside his home. Mr. Carmichael said a suspect whom he recognized struck his vehicle with an object and damaged the windshield and passenger side mirror. This case remains under investigation (790).
