On 19 Jan 10 Tiffany Fouty, age 28, 640 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, reported a former family member may have forged her signature on an insurance company release form. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 20 Jan 10 a CPA reported finding a $3,000 discrepancy in the checking account of an eighty-eight year old Fleming resident. The CPA stated it appears an acquaintance of her client surreptitiously wrote the check to herself and then altered a bank statement to conceal the transaction. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 21 Jan 10 Mary E. Wolfe, age 31, 35 Maple Street Apt. 2, Newport, reported her husband Jason, age 37, drinks heavily and when he does so he frequently assaults her. Earlier in the evening, Mrs. Wolfe said she gave her husband money to get food but he instead returned home with a bottle of whiskey and started drinking. Arguments of sex and money followed thereafter, at which point Mr. Wolfe jumped on top of his wife, who was seated on a couch, and began to choke her. Mrs. Wolfe said she struggled to escape and stated during the assault she felt her husband would injure her severely. Questioned regarding the incident, Mr. Wolfe alleged his wife was the aggressor and stated that his wife struck him and said to him that she was going to have him arrested. Deputy Sheriff Simmons spoke to Mrs. Wolfe’s mother who was speaking to her daughter at the time of the attack and confirmed Mrs. Wolfe’s account of the events. As a result, Deputy Simmons arrested Mr. Wolfe for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 22 Jan 10 Sgt. Thorpe issued a citation to Richard L. Newton, age 58, 2136 West Possum Road, Malta, for operating an unsafe vehicle. Sgt. Thorpe stopped Mr. Newton on Ohio Street near Fourth Street in Beverly for having a cracked windshield that obstructed the view on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

On 22 Jan 10 a forty-four year old Fleming resident reported school authorities contacted her after they discovered her eleven year old adopted son severely choked her nine year old adopted son. Arguing over who won a race to their bus stop, the younger brother suffered scratches and had a small red mark on his lip. When contacted, the Prosecutor’s Office declined to pursue charges against either child because of their age.

On 22 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Mayle issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Kurtus R. Marshall, age 21, 23940 State Route 26, Rinard Mills, for being in possession of an open container of alcohol. A backseat passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on Booth Hollow Road in Lower Salem, Mr. Marshall had an open can of Busch Light between his feet.

On 23 Jan 10 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Haleigh B. Ritchie, age 18, 2500 27th Avenue, Parkersburg, for possession of marijuana. Stopped for having only one functioning headlight on State Route 339 near Veto Road, Ms. Ritchie had an overwhelming odor of perfume. Deputy Smeeks’ canine indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, prompting a search of the passenger compartment. The resulting search yielded a partially burnt marijuana joint, a cigar stuffed with marijuana, marijuana seeds and marijuana bud fragments.

On 24 Jan 10 Shannon McGlumphy, age 29, 114 Lake Road, Belpre, reported sometime between 18 Jan and 23 Jan an unknown suspect(s) entered a Dodge truck in her driveway and stole a vehicle programming computer and a case containing fifty or sixty various CDs. This case remains under investigation (500).

On 21 Jan 10 the Sheriff’s Office received these warrants:

Whitney Nelson, age 20, 343 Hardie Heights Road, Washington, WV, for unauthorized use of a vehicle on 13 Oct 09.

Timothy P. Charlton, age 28, 1681 Sealy Ridge Road, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $456.30.

Lionel J. Gore, age 22, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $897.65.

Neal D. Groves, age 43, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 4A, New Matamoras, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,250.95.

Gregory A. Hart, age 19, 442 Washington Street, Macksburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $596.70.

Jeremy T. Wheeler, age 31, 910 Charles Drive Apt. A, Parkersburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $606.60.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Thursday 21 Jan 10 and Monday 25 Jan 10:

Jemmy Dwight Boyce, age 48, 729 Eighth Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Boyce was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 10 at 10:55 am.

Natasha Dawn Jack, age 26, 13960 Coolville Ridge Road, Athens, for two misdemeanor counts of passing bad checks. Jack was picked up at the Athens County line by Patrolman Kirby of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 10 at 3:40 pm.

Jason Eugene Wolfe, age 37, 35 Maple Street Apt. 2, Newport, for domestic violence, a felony. Wolfe was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 10 at 10:23 pm.

Troy Wilson Wheatley, age 29, 1213 Hurricane Branch Road, Chapmanville, WV, for possession of criminal tools, theft and for disrupting public services, all felonies. Wheatley was arrested in Lowell by Sgt. Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jan 10 at 10:00 am.

Roy Burk Woody, age 37, Perry Branch Road, Chapmanville, WV, for possession of criminal tools, theft and for disrupting public services, all felonies. Woody was arrested in Lowell by Sgt. Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jan 10 at 10:00 am.

Kurt Ryan Medley, age 33, 121 Cornerstone Drive, Marietta, for a felony charge of assault on a peace officer and for misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Medley was arrested on Pennock Drive by Patrolman Sams of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jan 10 at 11:25 am.

Travis Lee Klein, age 20, Pomeroy, for a felony charge of escape and for a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. Klein was picked up at the Athens County line by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jan 10 at 3:50 pm.

Russell Allen McCabe, age 42, 1390 Joe Skinner Road, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. McCabe was arrested on Washington Boulevard in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jan 10 at 7:43 pm.

Jeremiah Dale Campbell, age 28, 1027 Greene Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Campbell was arrested at his residence by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jan 10 at 2:32 am.

Linda Elizabeth Lasure, age 27, 1216 Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras, for giving false information to avoid a ticket, a misdemeanor. Lasure was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Mayle and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Jan 10 at 9:15 pm.

Olivia Lane Stanley, age 19, 3310 Williams Avenue, Belle, WV, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Stanley turned herself in to Lt. Gherke at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jan 10 at 1:00 am.

Maurice Grant Heslep, age 29, 2504 13th Avenue, Vienna, for felony charges of forgery and receiving stolen property and for a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. Heslep turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jan 10 at 8:45 am.

There are currently eighty-two men and fifteen women being housed in the Washington County Jail.
