The Washington County Commissioners are asking the Ohio Department of Transportation to review the statutory speed limit on six county roads. The request comes at the recommendation of the county engineer based on the belief that the current speed limit of 55 miles per hour is “unreasonable” on some stretches of the roads.

Thursday’s request involves Dalzell Road, Dana Run Road, Main Street in Waterford, Warrior Drive, Davis Road, and Watertown Road.

In other business, the commissioners approved their portion of the pay of elected officials. Commissioner Sam Cook noted that there has been no increase for two years.

Also, upon the recommendation of Commissioner Cora Marshall, the commissioners appointed Dr. Kenneth Leopold to the Washington County Childrens Services Board to serve in the seat recently retired by Joe Wesel.
